IAEA made predictions of the development of SMR, there will be 43-96 SMRs under construction by 2030, 18.2 million KW SMRs in operation by 2030, and SMR also will get 25% of the nuclear power capacity of the OECD and non-OECD countries by 2050. With reference to the "Thirteenth Five-Year Plan", China's nuclear power construction entered the peak of development with the push of policy. However, the current domestic safety review for small reactors has not been completed yet. In the international market, the United States, the United Kingdom, South Korea, and Russia all vigorously promote the development and the deployment of small reactors. As a result, International cooperation in technology and supervision will build a good foundation for SMR's future.
Under the theme of “Accelerate the Economy of SMR, Promote the Commercialization”, the 5th Annual International Small Modular Reactor Development Forum aims to build an international platform where presentations and discussions will support sharing of experience, exchange of knowledge and information transfer among leaders and experts in the field of SMR.
